I’ve been mentioning my Twitter account a little bit because I’m having fun with it. Initially I thought “This is stupid,” and just signed up so I could have my name (but who would take FeistyFoodie anyway?!), and then there was a week or two when I got really caught up in trying to read everyone I “follow” – their updates (aka “Tweets”) – I mostly follow food-industry people, actually – and now I just relax and log in every once in a while to post something I think is fun, funny or notable.
However, during my trip to DC, I randomly decided to “live Tweet” the trip… especially because I happened to have just set up “TwitPic” the day before I left! Which means, um, I can upload pictures from my BlackBerry quickly to Twitter and people who “follow” me can see what I’m looking at as well. How fun?!
To be honest, live Tweeting is completely self-indulgent, narcississtic and kind of moronic. Which means it totally appeals to my inner Diva! It was a lot of fun – except the part where it drained my battery, which wound up dying just before I got on the bus to go home, which isn’t exactly the safest time to die, considering I was travelling alone – but y’know, I had a good time doing it, and based on the feedback, at least a couple of people were enjoying my updates 🙂
In any case, because I wasn’t used to using ‘tags’ or whatever you call them, only half of my Tweets from the trip are appropriately marked. So, for those who don’t use Twitter, weren’t following along, but mostly for myself so I have them all in one place, here are that day’s Tweets, in chronological order:
