Of course, on our way back from Pittsburgh, we had to stop by our all-time favorite road trip restauraunt – Cracker Barrel. I opted for an Orange’n’Cream this time, instead of my usual root beer, seeking the usual frosted mug but this time, with a drink that replicates the taste of a melting orange creamsicle. Mmmmm, delicious.
We both decided to get the Sunday special of fried chicken, and found it pretty darn tasty. However, sadly/strangely, this was the furthest south Cracker Barrel we’d ever been to and it was the worst service I’ve ever gotten from a Cracker Barrel. The waitress wouldn’t look at me, and took forever (like 10 minutes) to bring the chicken gravy I requested – and brought a singular napkin when BF asked for extra napkins. Very odd – I seriously expect much more from Cracker Barrel. I have no idea why we were treated so poorly that even BF commented on it and wondered at the odd service. We finished eating and beat a hasty retreat… no point in sticking around where the waitress was rude to us. Maybe she was having a bad day.
The chicken was good, though my hash brown casserole was sticky/gummy and not very good. This was definitely the worst Cracker Barrel I’ve been to thusfar. Ah well, it won’t stop me from going to other locations.

Sorry about that sweetie.
I do know the Cracker Barrels by us that if you are dissatisfied with service or your meal they will take it off the bill…although we have never taken them up it, we have seen people do it. I know that isn't what you are after, but she sounds awful.
I always get the dumplings with collard greens and mashed potatoes with gravy & unsweet tea. Oh, goodie, now I am hungry 😀

I also am a big fan of road trip Cracker Barrel, I like getting that meal that comes with a sampling of everything… I think the hasbrown sidedish rules. As for the bad service, CrackerBarrel has a reuputation of being a tad… racist… Check the wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cracker_Barrel
for more info…
