A few weeks back now, I met up with the lovely Rochelle of Sexy Girls Eat for a Walking Feast. If you have to ask what a Walking Feast is, why are we friends? I’m just teasing. It is as simple – and as wonderful – as it sounds. A feast while walking. Admittedly, some of our feasting was done while seated, but the eating began around 1 pm and we didn’t part ways until 2 am. The damage we could have done is far worse than actually was done – I was having issues and apologized profusely to the [...]

Ah, Week 4, how you taunt me so. If you’ll recall, I announced last week that I’d be foregoing both meat and fish going forward. Yup. Did that. Was it hard? Not moreso than meat. I did start to crave, of all things, dumplings, but I can fend that off. Be sure that I’ll be going on a revised Dumpling Tour in a few weeks, though! I’m getting through this, though again, I’m a little nervous, this time because my blood loss is increasing exponentially and I really don’t look forward to fainting in the middle of anything. (Yes, I buy pre-shredded blends, because it makes my life infinitely easier and because I’m cooking with them, I don’t feel the quality of the cheese deteriorates that much. [...]

Whenever I hear about a new place opening in the Financial District close to my office, I get excited, even though I don’t plan on being here forever (I swear it!). I even walked down there to take pictures of the place when it first opened, but I forgot to post them cuz I don’t use Flickr and whatever. I kind of forgot about them for a while since I’ve been focusing on bringing lunch. But then, as usual, the lovely Daniel Krieger reminded me with a post on Midtown Lunch: Downtown Lunch that the place was open, in business, and bringing [...]
