Mmm… those aren’t burnt bits, I assure you.  Just extra deliciousness… (Seriously, they’re not burned… it’s this silly story about how I went to buy soy sauce and well, my mom bought me a bottle last time and said, “This is the good stuff to use,” and when I went to the store on Sunday, I bought what I thought I remembered her getting me: premium dark soy sauce.  Turns out she’d gotten me premium soy sauce; the dark stuff is super dark.)  Mmm… even more delicious is the side that goes with it.  No.  Wait.  They’re both super delicious.  [...]

Serial Thursdays: Watching

February 26, 2009 by

I’m watching you get ready out of the corner of my eye.  You don’t see me, you continue fixing your hair and smoothing out your button down shirt.  I pretend to watch TV, with the blankets drawn up over my knees which I hug to my chest, but secretly I watch you while you get ready for work.  I don’t have a job besides being your wife, but every morning, when you awaken, I turn the TV on and pretend to watch the news while you get ready for work.  When did we get this way?  When did we fall [...]

Ben’s Deli

Funny enough, I actually posted about this place almost three years ago to the day.  I say a few somewhat blasphemous things in that post, so you don’t have to click over… but it’s pretty funny seeing how far I’ve come in a short three years.  In any case, needing something to refuel in between comic-hunting and panels at Comic Con, I led BF over this way since it was fairly close by and we both do enjoy sandwiches.  I’ve taken him to one or two other locations of Ben’s as well, so this seemed a nice option, a bit [...]

Il Punto

Remember Il Punto?  I went to this press event there a few weeks ago, and I said I’d be going back to try out a full meal.  Based on the press event, where I enjoyed nearly all the fried offerings I had, I decided I could bring my seafood-averse boyfriend for a meal while we took a break from nearby Comicon.  Unfortunately, when we sat down and perused the menu, I noticed that the menu was heavy on fish, and boasted nearly none of the items I’d sampled during the press event.  Hmm.  Luckily, my boyfriend is an incredibly good [...]
