The third and final potluck was amongst my high school buddies.
Lacking any inspiration (and being told that I was not to bring a rice dish), I made spinach sauteed in lots of garlic. It was okay, but then it’s “just spinach” so how great could it be? (Personally, I love spinach in many forms, so this was yummy, but it suffered from being made 2 hours before it was consumed and excessive reheating.)
HB made roasted butternut squash with pancetta and garlic. Sound familiar? Yes, she took my “recipe” 🙂
Our lovely hostess made these delicious mashed potatoes.
She also made pasta sauce. Mmm… meaty.
BB made “oil rice” or what I would call sticky rice with lots of good stuff in it. Hahahah. This was really the surprise hit of the night – surprise mostly because I had no idea what she was talking about when she said “oil rice” in our previous emails, and because BF really liked this dish. I hadn’t thought he would even try it, but he wound up loving it. (And I made sure to snag the leftovers… yummm!)
Kyochon chicken, Korean fried chicken… BF also surprisingly loved these as well. (I love all wings, and deep fried, hello…)
My plate. All wonderfully yummy offerings!!!
Pineapple cheesecake from Junior’s!!!
Glamour shot of my slice. Yummy… love that pineapple topping!!!
That’s the last of the 2008 potlucks… tune in next year for more 😉
Hope you all had a lovely holiday party season and many more to come!!!
HAPPY EATING~!!!
