"Stalking" Ed Levine: Papatzul

I know… how many people can I stalk simultaneously, really? (Hint: in addition to these two, there’s a certain baseball player whose apartment I can be spotted outside on home game nights… I’m just kidding. Really!) To be honest, though, after the excellent food I had following his review on La Nacional, I decided Mr. Levine couldn’t steer me wrong. So I started making a list; whenever he posted a positive review that sounded like something I’d enjoy, the restaurant went on my list. Papatzul is the first I got to, snagging Linguine along for the ride. Being the extreme [...]

Tuesday night, a couple of my girlfriends and I had planned on attending the launch party of Catch-22. It was being promoted by a couple of different blogs and sites, but it turned out to suck hard. Though HB arrived and got on line at 5:45, they didn’t open the doors until 7:30, and the line stretched all the way around the block. When we got in, the food they were serving was an insult – cucumber julienne with mayo on pieces of stale bread, random crap deep fried, and just… yet another poorly organized event I’ve been to recently. [...]

The House that Hospitality built… hehe. HB and I had recently discovered we both wanted to try Union Square Cafe, and she had the foresight to make reservations for a night we were both free. Away we go… The decor as you step in immediately explains the name. It looks like a very cute cafe. A nice cafe, but a cafe nonetheless. Something that I must say immediately: our service was extremely odd. I won’t say poor, because we were not ignored, nor were we treated rudely, just… our server gave us our menus, but did not offer us a [...]
NY Mag’s "Highbrow" BBQ – All You Can Eat, SUPPOSEDLY
Wow, what a f*cked up day. Initially, while thinking about everything that went down, I was going to try to curb the Feisty that lives within me, occasionally dormant, sometimes rearing her big, b*tchy head (I’m not going to link to instances when I’ve been b*tchy, you’ll just have to find them yourself, but if you look around, it’s not that hard to find!). Mostly because part of the reason I went was to show some love for one of the Cook Off judges, Cathy of Not Eating Out in NY, but then it occurred to me. She didn’t host [...]
